Jayda Atkinson’s life has been profoundly shaped by the world of culinary arts, entertainment, and hospitality. Her journey began in the heart of Uptown New Orleans, in a charming shotgun house, where her great-grandmother introduced her to what would become her lifelong passion and source of income. Being allowed to stir the pot was a pivotal moment, capturing the essence of cooking and serving. Food not only saved her life but also opened many doors—doors of purpose, leadership, service, and vision.

Driven by a deep-rooted love for entrepreneurship, entertainment, and culinary arts, and the significant impact these industries have had on her life, Jayda founded ‘The Success Cafe.’ Believing in the transformative power of education, mentorship, and hands-on experience, The Success Cafe’s mission is to provide teens and adults with the guidance and support needed to embark on or advance their careers.

The Success Cafe Adolescent Mentorship Program, divided into two tiers for students in grades 7 through 12, goes beyond teaching the ins and outs of the industry. Participants learn about teamwork, creativity, and the joy of serving others. They gain practical knowledge in running a cafe, including front-of-house and back-of-house operations, vendor relations, and developing their own food brands—crucial skills in today’s culinary landscape. The program also includes community service opportunities and inspirational field trips.

The Adult Mentoring Program at The Success Cafe is specifically tailored to meet the needs of mature individuals and professionals in the food, beverage, and festival industries. Offering comprehensive mentoring services, the program features quarterly workshops and webinars designed to enhance business acumen, culinary skills, and industry knowledge. These sessions are conducted by seasoned professionals and cover a range of topics from innovative culinary techniques to business strategy and sustainability in the festival circuit.

Participants also benefit from hands-on experiences, where they can apply their learning in real-world settings, fostering a deeper understanding and mastery of their craft. This practical approach ensures that adults not only gain theoretical knowledge but also develop the confidence and skills necessary to succeed in their respective fields.
